UPSILON PSI OMEGA CHAPTER
Upsilon Psi Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated will be awarding scholarships to four qualified applicants in the amount of $500, of which two will be given to students that will attend a historically black college or university (HBCU). To be considered for these scholarships, applicants must meet the scholarship criteria and follow the application procedures. Strong consideration is given to those individuals that express a financial need and a commitment to the community. Attached are the scholarship forms to be distributed to eligible students who wish to apply. Please feel free to make additional copies of these forms.
Scholarship Criteria:
The applicant must:

- Be an African American male or female.
- Be a high school senior.
- Be accepted or plan to attend a 4-year college or university.
- Be active in school, church, and/or community.
- Have at least a 2.8 cumulative grade point average.

Application Procedures:

- Submit 2 letters of recommendation. One letter must be from a school official.
- Submit a complete application.
- Provide an official transcript in a sealed envelope from your school counselor.
- Provide a copy of your acceptance letter to a 4-year college or university, if available.
- Provide a one-page essay describing your community involvement, academic goals, and why you should be considered for this scholarship.

- The recipients and other applicants will be notified via email and/or mail.
- Incomplete applications and applications received after the deadline will not be considered.
- Immediate family members of Upsilon Psi Omega Chapter are ineligible.
