Since its inception in 1908, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® has been dedicated to cultivating high scholastic and ethical standards in college students, encouraging social change and providing effective advocacy. Following the organizational mission and principles instilled by our charter members, Upsilon Psi Omega Chapter is dedicated to financially supporting academic excellence and lifelong learning. The Chapter has provided more than 50 college scholarships to graduating high school students.
Upsilon Psi Omega Chapter 2026 Scholarship recipient criteria:
- An African-American male or female
- A current high school senior.
- Resident of the Nashville Metropolitan Area (includes Davidson County and surrounding counties in Middle Tennessee)
- Been accepted AND plan to attend a 4-year college or university in the Fall of 2026 (evidence of matriculation will be required from awardees)
- Active in school, church, and/or community
- 2.8 cumulative grade point average or higher
